Wedding at the castle
Back in the foggy days of Prospero’s bout with flu (you don’t need to see any more of it here), he attended a wonderful wedding reception, though he was invited to all the pre- and post-events as well. At the time, he was unable to take any photos himself, but managed to pass his camera on to the groom’s stepfather, Tom, who took the photos we will be putting up as a slide show as soon as we get the okay from the bride (they’re presumably on their honeymoon, so it could take a while). However, we do very much want to thank and congratulate Heather and Paul (snitched photo above) for choosing such a romantic setting for their wedding. There’s much more to this story, so watch this space for a late update!
Charity football match raised €10,000 for La Estrella
While we were off the air over Christmas a major charity event took place in Jimena (much about which here). The charity football match held on Saturday, December 20th, raised just over €10,000 for the local handicapped organization, La Estrella, with a packed stadium and stars of all kinds turning out for it. We will be putting up a back dated slide show that would have been published had we been online at the time. Watch this space for a link.
SILENCE FROM THE COUNCIL
Using this same illustration, and under the title ‘Administrative Silence’, TioJimeno recently published an interesting list of questions that so far have been left unanswered by the Council. We have taken the liberty of translating them (click on ‘Read More’ below) but in doing so, we see there are several matters that have arisen over the last few days with which we have not yet dealt here. We admit to a backlog of local interest news and promise to update as soon as possible. Read the rest of this entry »
PREPARING FOR THE BIKES
Preparations for the motorbike rally this afternoon, organized by the local enthusiast association Los Murgas, were well under way this morning. Bikes began trickling in even though registration was not to begin until 3.30 this afternoon – those occasional roars up and down the village are visting bikers, the vast majority of whom respect the law, especially that of noise pollution. This association is remarkable for its annual effort and the organization behind it, and although the rally is only in its second year, excellent participation is expected. Added to that is their support of two good local causes: the anti-drug campaigners ‘Hozgarganta’ and the handicapped association ‘La Estrella’. We will bring you a full report tomorrow morning (not too early as this event is a late one). To see more pictures Read the rest of this entry »
ARTICLES COMING UP
This, of course, is the silly season, the bane of journalists and the amusement of readers. But JimenaPulse is preparing some items that might interest you, which we will be publishing over the next few weeks: Read the rest of this entry »
