ur good friend Currini, who writes his own blog and is often posted on TioJimeno, wrote the following there, which we offer in a translation that is inadequate to the passion he has for the village where he was born and grew up. He and the rest of us are outraged about the vandalism (pics: before and after) shown by those who do not share Currini’s passion. But there is good news: the horns that were torn off the deer on the roundabout were found this morning at the doorstep of the Local Police station; let’s hope they can be put back on and they will remain there. SWEET LEMONS
Yes, we hadn’t heard about them either, but our friend Paco from the chemist’s (that’s him up the tree) told us he had a limón dulce tree in his beautiful orchard in San Pablo. We didn’t believe him – I mean, sweet lemons?! – so he arranged to take us out to try them. He picked a whole lot and we tried them: they are limones dulces, indeed. In fact, once you get rid of the peel and pith, they taste rather insipid, not at all like a lemon, and we don’t know what to do with them. Any ideas? Read the rest of this entry »
