WHICH AD LOOKS BETTER?
WHICH ONE IS MORE LIKELY TO GET RESULTS?
If you have a house, villa, apartment, garage or anything else to let in or around Jimena, or you represent one or more, get them on the list at Holiday Lets in Jimena, our new partner site launching in mid-October, in good time for Christmas and Easter bookings. It is not expensive but it is effective, as Holiday Lets in Jimena will be featured regularly on JimenaPulse and viewed by over 500 visitors per day. Contact us for details.
ANOTHER PARTNER SITE (under construction)
As though we didn’t have anything else to do, we’re building a new partner site for JimenaPulse. This one will interest anyone with a holiday home to let in or around Jimena. If that is you, or anyone you know, please contact us so that we can send you a proposal and include the property in our listings. It doesn’t matter how large or small the holiday home is, or in what price range, or even if you’re an agent, as we won’t take any commissions (unless you want to give us one) but will make a small monthly charge just to list it with as many details as you want to have published. We get some 400 visits every day from all over the world (over two thousand over the last four days alone!) – and many of our visitors have decided to spend a holiday in Jimena as a result, even from as far away as Australia, America and Asia. This is your chance, and mid-October (launch time) the right time of year, to spread the word.
BANK HOLIDAY TOMORROW
Tomorrow, Friday, August 15th, is a national bank holiday, so expect banks and official offices to be closed. Most small local supermarkets, however, will probably be open in the morning. Traffic on main roads, especially on the coast, is expected to be heavy as three things coincide in time: the high summer tourist season, a puente (or long weekend) and the middle of the month, or the tourist ‘changeover.’
WE SAW ORCAS!
Imaginative headline that, but read more as to why. You see, Prospero and son were very kindly invited by Zen Marriott on a day out with her friends to go whale watching in Tarifa yesterday (hence no posts); to whom many thanks for a great day. It was a wonderful experience that started early in the morning to get to the boat by 10.30. We were very lucky, too, as we got to see some orcas (a.k.a. killer whales, though they’re actually the largest kind of dolphins). After over three hours with the excellent crew from the Frimm Foundation, during which we had the company of other dolphins as well, we repaired to Bolonia for a wonderful lunch. This is definitely one of the things one must do at this time of year. Read the rest of this entry »
MONDAY IS A LOCAL HOLIDAY
Next M
onday, May 26th, is what is sometimes called ‘Hangover Monday’, a convenient movable day off that comes after a local Feria and affects the entire municipality. This year it is San Martín del Tesorillo’s turn – except they’ve moved their Feria, which normally coincides with Corpus Christi (this week; photo of street decorations by TioJimeno), to June 11 to 15. The decision was taken after an unofficial ‘referendum’ in Tesorillo. The holiday means that there will be no school on Monday, banks will be closed and probably many shops, though not all. We are unable to find out about rubbish collection because the Town Hall phone number has been unanswered after 5 calls.
