FERIA DE AGOSTO

This is the poster announcing this year’s Feria de Agosto (9th to 12th), and also the cover of the annual magazine published every year and already distributed. You should be able to obtain a copy at the Town Hall, though we were told this morning that there were none there. We will extract some of the more relevant information, translate it, and post it forthwith. Watch this space.
We think you will agree with us that it is one of the most elegant such publications in years! We believe the fan belongs to our Mayor’s wife, who bought it from artist Tony Carbonell at his exhibition during the festival. We suspect Carbonell himself may have had a hand in designing the poster as well. Whoever it might have been: congratulations!
Pity he didn’t have a hand on the contents of the magazine, though.

FERIA DE MAYO 2007 – THE END!

The bullfight was a grand success. Fernando Gómez, who organized it and presided over the proceedings as well, told Prospero this morning that he was well pleased with the result, although he had wished for a better turnout (the lack of which he put down to politics a week away from local elections). For what it’s worth, Prospero agrees with him.
Perhaps another one next year? Fernando’s answer: It depends on whether the people trust us enough to vote us in again.
