We received this e-mail this morning:
“Dear Prospero,
Thank you very much indeed for the notice about the money raised for the Burma cyclone appeal. Would it be possible to conclude with a final report and a big ‘thank you’ to all those who contributed?
My enquiries eventually led me to the ‘Medicine Sans Frontiers’ (Medicos Sin Fronteras) charity, which already has a presence in Burma and a dedicated Burma cyclone fund, and I was able to deposit the final amount of 313 Euros to them today via the Unicaja bank. More info on the charity is available on their websites: http://www.msf.org.uk and http://www.msf.es . If anyone else wishes to donate via the Unicaja bank, I would be happy to supply the details required, and donations can also be made via the websites.
We were absolutely thrilled with the response, and although it has taken longer than I would have hoped to get the money to them, I am confident that the charity will use the money to continue their life-saving work with the cyclone victims.
We plan to bring the books along to the car boot sale, this time with proceeds going to the local ‘Estrella’ charity, so all our book-loving customers will have another chance to stock up.
Many thanks, once again, and to all our customers.
Ruth & Val”
