Thanks to TioJimeno we have the programme for the Feria de Mayo 2008 (May 9, 10 & 11), which looks very much like last year’s. Despite announcements to the contrary, there is no bullfight, not even on horses. However, there is a ‘horse show’ though it doesn’t say what exactly that entails (Prospero guesses it’ll be horses and flamenco dancers coughing in the dust). 20.30 – Lighting of the fair lights
23.00 – Dancing at the Caseta Municipal to ‘Trio Luna’
23.00 – Opening of the Caseta de la Juventud
Saturday, May 10th
11.00 – Opening of horse, mule & donkey market.
11.00 – ‘Best dressed donkey’ competition
11.00 – Opening of the ‘Arts & Crafts, Painting and the environment’ exhibition.
12.00 – 10th Cork Loading Competition
18.00 – Opening of the ‘Arts & Crafts, Painting and the environment’ exhibition.
18.30 – ‘Horse Show’ at sports pavilion
23.00 – Dancing at Caseta Municipal to ‘GATO NEGRO’
23.00 – Opening of the Caseta de la Juventud
Sunday, May 11th
8.30 to 11.00 – Registration for Dog Show, opening of dog exhibits and buying & selling of dogs, at sports pavilion, followed by ‘6th National Podenco Andaluz & Maneto Show of Jimena de la Frontera’
11.00 – Opening of the ‘Arts & Crafts, Painting and the environment’ exhibition
12.00 – Horse Ribbon Race at sports pavilion
14.00 – Dancing at the Caseta Municipal to ‘Trio Luna’ and ‘Gato Negro’
