‘CHE EL ARGENTINO’ OPENING IN SPAIN

The first part of the film Che that was partly shot in San Pablo, premieres in Spain on September 5th. As is often the case, though, we may have to wait for its local debut. In the meantime, we offer this trailer in Spanish but will try to find out if there is an original version (i.e. not dubbed but maybe with subtitles in Spanish) planned for the area. LA ESTACIÓN

ABSOLUTELY MAH-VELLOUS!

Just been watching the Beijing 2008 Olympics inaugural ceremony (Watch it here with Spanish commentary). Thousands of dancers, performers, athletes, officials and public. Thousands of thoroughly trained and rehearsed people lined up in straight, almost military lines: the serried ranks of China. Thousands of tons of fireworks throughout the city. Lots of peak moments, but topping it all, the torch was lit by Li Ning, three-time gold medal gymnast, who, suspended by two cables, ‘ran’ across the whole ring at the top of the stadium to light the torch. Spectacular! And that was followed by a firework display like there has never been: 18.000 points through the city and tightly computer-controlled coordination as each round went off.
