WE ARE INSIGNIFICANT (6)

Time cures all, goes the old refrain. Actually, time doesn’t matter that much – it’s only an invention of Man (men?) to get us to the hairdresser on time. Okay, as we said before in this weirdest of JimenaPulse series, time matters when you’re waiting for the plumber and the bathroom’s flooded. But not in the grand scheme of things. And anyway, how often have we given enormous importance to things that we can’t even remember now?

In last week’s episode (click here to see it – or click on ‘Series’ below to get the full saga) we, the Earth and us upon it, had gone off the cosmic map. Bet you can’t find us here, either (or is that an arrow pointing to us? Click on picture to see). So now we know that we’re not that important, really – except to those around us, to the people we love and to those who love us.
Off you go to work now, but it might not be a great idea to tell the boss how much you love him/her. In any case, come back next Monday to round off the series with us.

HEALTH CARE IN JIMENA (5)

canary_border_fancy2.jpg The only chemist’s was that of Don José Sánchez de Medina (I think that was his name). He was a canary fancier and from him I bought everything my parents ordered me to.

WE ARE INSIGNIFICANT (5)

This series is getting stranger every time, but no apologies from Prospero. It is a fact that we believe ourselves to be so very important that we all too often forget about the really important things, like to take time off to spend with the family, to go fishing just to hear the water, to tell someone we love them… that sort of thing. (If anyone thinks Prospero is preaching, you are forgiven. He’s only trying to remind himself of these things.)

Last week (click here to see it – or click on ‘Series’ below for the whole story) our planet had disappeared – and look at us now! If you click on the picture, you’ll be able to read what it says about us. Having swallowed this dose without a spoonful of sugar, you might now resolve to tell the boss that you have other important things on your mind… But we’ll give you more firepower next week, so maybe it’s best to say nothing yet.

WE ARE INSIGNIFICANT (4)

Size matters, we’re told. So in this weird philosophical series, which Prospero hopes is being followed attentively by at least a couple of his readers every Monday, he is trying to relate the way we think of ourselves, sizewise, to our real size. They say that the best business deal is to buy a man for what he is really worth, and sell him for what he thinks he’s worth – don’t know if this applies to women, though. It wouldn’t apply to planets and the cosmos, however. (It might, just, apply to Jimena.)

Last week (click here to see it – or follow the saga by clicking on ‘Series’ below) our enormous planet was still there. Today we have shrunk to nothing. Come back for more shrinking next Monday at 9 a.m.
