Alcaidesa stops work on new marina sewage unit

AlcaidesaObrasThe Club Marítimo Linense (La Línea Sailing Club) has complained that it is afraid sewage will be drained from the new Alcaidesa, under construction (photo: EuropaSur). According to sources at the club,> “sewage from the marina is likely to come out just where we have our sailing and rowing classes.”

While Alcaidesa says that the sewage will be pumped properly, the club insists that it should be alright under normal circumstances, but “when it rains the pumps won’t be able to cope and sewage will be mixed with rain water, exposing the kids learning to sail to infection.”

The two sides have agreed to find a solution. In the meantime, work has stopped on the sewage unit though not on the construction of the marina itself.
