Income, booze and fags: taxes up

TabacoAlcohol(Agencies/Summary) José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero has announced that income tax is to rise in certain brackets (not necessarily the highest). Rises are expected, too, on taxes on alcohol and tobacco, while Health Minister Elena Salgado announces that smoking will “soon” be forbidden in all public places, including bars and restaurants. (Excuse us while we’re off to roll another batch…)

Ref the smoking and recession issues – that means more people will lose their jobs because less people will be going to bars and restaurants – hmm………
