(DiscoverCadiz.com) The 2nd annual Gastronomy Marathon takes place in San Roque on Friday and Saturday, September 4 and 5. Some 40 bars and restaurants in the municipality are taking part. The marathon consists of two routes: one in the historic centre of San Roque itself and the other in the Campamento – Puente Mayorga bay area.
September traditionally sees a small dip in the turnover of catering outlets after the peak holiday months so this event is aimed at boosting visitors and turnover. All residents of the Campo de Gibraltar and beyond are urged to take part as they will find fine dishes at good prices plus the opportunity to win over 40 prizes.
