This year’s Baobab Festival takes place in Estepona from September 4 to 6, but there is a pre-Festival festival on Casares beach this weekend. With live World Music (a little preview below) from 9pm on Saturday, Sunday offers all kinds of activities and music for children and grownups. Both the Casares and Estepona events are aimed at helping the Baobab School in the Cosa district of Conakry, the capital city of Guinea-Conakry.>The three previous editions of the festival have put together enough money to build a school in this most impoverished area of one of the world’s most impoverished countries. Since 2007, the Baobab School so far offers free education to some 70 children between 4 and 12.
Further fundraising is aimed at creating a sustainable subsistence quality of life for the school’s area of influence.
