What shall we do with this drunken…

PICT0049 …drainpipe? Is there a practical, sensible reason for having it like this, or was the builder on a bender (sorry, had to make a pun)? Does it stop rats and cats from climbing up; would they get dizzy and fall? Does this family have hamsters and is this their playground? What happens when it rains and it’s clogged up with dead rats and cats and hamsters? Was there a special offer on bends at the ironmonger’s?  Should we all run out and put ours up like this? Would we be allowed to? Just asking…

This makes me smile every time I see it! This house conforms more to the local planning regulations than most other houses in Calle Yustos – no plastic windows or doors, no round windows, no balconies, no stone crazy paving on the facade. So where’s the harm?
