San Pablo feria opens tonight

ProgramaFeria_portada The annual feria of San Pablo opens tonight with the coronation of the Queens of the Fair, who start their parade, to the tunes of the Municipal Band of Jimena, at 10.30 through the streets: Sol, Larios, Real and La Viña to the municipal marquee at the sports centre. After their coronation, the group Elite takes over for dancing, while a good time is expected, too, over at the Caseta de la Juventud for the young. (Feria programme>)

Friday, June 26

13.00 – Caseta Municipal – Lunch for the women of the village, who should turn up in flamenco dresses. Dancing.

Afternoon/early evening – Caseta Municipal – Children’s party: fun and games for the kids.

19.30 – Feria sports competitions begin, starting with table tennis and mini-football.

Saturday, June 27

Morning – By the bridge over the Guadiaro River – Traditional horse races (cintas, angarillas and more)

Morning – Finca Parpagón – Skeet shooting competition

20.00 – Caseta Municipal – Party for the elderly. Dancing.

Night – Caseta Municipal – Concert by local singer Zenobi. Dancing afterwards, to Orquesta Costa Blanca and el Trío Elite.

Sunday, June 28

13.00 – Children’s races (sack, bikes, etc.)

14.00 – Domingo Rociero: traditional ride out in flamenco costumes. Goes on until well into the night.

Monday, June 29

19.00 – (St. Peter & St. Paul – San Pedro y San Pablo) Holy Mass, followed by Religious Procession through the village streets, including the newly renovated Calle Real.
