The Night of San Juan approaches

noche-de-san-juan2 To some extent, La Noche de San Juan is the equivalent of the English Bonfire Night – if only because of the bonfires. The dates don’t coincide: Spain’s is on the night of June 23, and the fires get lit at midnight. Another difference: Spain’s are usually on the beach, at least in the dry South and on almost any beach. You write down a wish on a piece of paper that gets burned up; if you wish for a great, fun time, it’s bound to come true…
