Change of Governor for Gibraltar in the autumn

Vice-Admiral-Johns (Agencies) Vice-Admiral Sir Adrian Johns KCB CBE (photo) has been appointed Governor of Gibraltar to succeed Lt Gen Sir Robert Fulton KBE. Sir Adrian will take up his appointment during the autumn of 2009, according to the Foreign Office. He is married and has a son and three daughters. His principal appointments over the last 10 years:>

Second Sea Lord & Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command (as Vice Admiral); Assistant Chief of Naval Staff, Ministry of Defence (as Rear Admiral); Head of Fleet Air Arm; Commanding Officer HMS OCEAN (as Captain) and Principal Staff Officer to Chief of Defence Staff (as Commodore).
He has also been Commanding officer of HMS CAMPBELTOWN, HMS ARIADNE, HMS JUNO and HMS YARNTON (in Hong Kong).
