When we arrived in Jimena in October 2003, it was Jan, with Harriet, who first took us under their wings and eased us into life in Spain, and it was they whose friendship most convinced us that this country is where we wanted to live.

She was a fine woman, a good friend and a superb example of what an ex-patriate could be. She really will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with Harriet, and indeed all those in Jimena whose lives Jan touched.

God Bless You.
