The latest rescue operation of immigrant boat people in Tarifa is yet another in an unending string of such tragedies. A boat full of some 40 sub-Saharan people tipped over in the Straits near Tarifa yesterday and 18 people are still being searched for in the water. It is thought that there are eight children among them. Salvamento Marítimo (Sea Rescue) renewed the search at 8.30 this morning. A sad series of excellent photos of yesterday’s operation taken by Erasmo Fenoy was published in europasur.es this morning. They are a perfect illustration of this tragedy.
