(Press release) The clothes bank set up by volunteers at the Reina Sofía Cultural Centre in Estación (item here) recently sent 30 lots of clothes surplus to local requirements to a home for the handicapped in northern Morocco, as well as similar places in Peru and Mali. Juani Jiménez, the Council delegate in Estación, tells us they are still collecting clothes, most of which goes to local people or support organizations, at the Cultural Centre. “We have ‘rapid response’ kits available at all times, she says. But nothing is wasted. So, while you’re changing over to your summer stuff, put the old things into a bag and take it down there during normal hours. They will also take toys in good condition, shoes ditto.
