About Jimena de la Frontera, the province of Cadiz and Spain as a whole, focused on this small village in the mountains

Campaign against excessive road tax gets under way

iu campaña If you came to the Friday market you might have noticed that Izquierda Unida (IU) had a table for collecting signatures at the entrance. You may have thought it had nothing to do with you. It certainly does if your car is registered in Jimena! (See our earlier item here). We are told by a couple of regular readers that the petition is available at several establishments in town, and we’re certain that you can sign it at the IU headquarters opposite the banks by the square (it looks like a bar, which it also is). Please sign one (only once) because the road tax in Jimena is outrageous! (Note: we will have some comparisons on the water and sewage rates soon, too. Watch this space.)
