Fire breaks out at Pasada de Alcalá

Forest Fire (TioJimeno) A fire broke yesterday at 5pm, on the road parallel to the Hozgarganta River that runs from the bridge at Pasada de Alcalá to the former dairy farm (image: illustration only). The fire brigade came out and as they were putting this one out, another fire was seen about a kilometre away, in some trees, towards Estación. Both fires were supposedly under control at about 8pm but one of them spurted up again and the fire brigade was called in again.>

The Bomberos remind us that it is forbidden to light a fire in areas other than those specified for the purpose. To clear brush needs a permit from the Forestry people and it is a requirement to advise the bomberos, to avoid false alarms. If you see a fire, call 112 or 085 to report it. Causing a fire intentionally or by neglect carries a prison sentence of between six months and a year, plus heavy fines.
