Verónica Rojas: a star is born

Verónica Rojas If we haven’t posted anything on Verónica Rojas before, we can only kick ourselves. This girl from San Roque first went onstage as a singer at age 12, during a charity concert at the José Luis Galiardo Theatre in her native town. Now, she is starring on Spain’s Broadway, Gran Vía in Madrid) in a show called Enamorados Anónimos (loosely translated as ‘Lovers Anonymous), where she takes two parts. She has already had an album, which, she says, “was produced in only five days, and not enough time for subtleties,” and is preparing her second one with more time. If you’re wondering what the connection with Jimena is, her father is José Antonio Rojas, the foreman for the ARCGISA cleaning crews.

This young lady is definitely a star she proved that on Gente de Primera, something i an Englishman with Spanish ancestors, saw 2 years ago when i first saw her sing, and it was a travesty, an injustice that she did not win, something which was agreed by the head of TVE at the time, and resulted in her being allowed to make an album with SONY. That such a wonderful artiste should be treated so unjustly angered me, a voice and personality of such quality, gentleness, emotion, dignity, integrity and beauty should never be treated so badly.
Everything she sings is wonderful, some have said (se llama copla 2008) that she does not have an Andalucian accent so cannot truly sing flamenco, I say that she has the true spirit of Andalucia ,no , of all Spain, her voice transcends all accents, it brings heaven and the stars, to Earth, the voice of an Angel, a Spanish Angel, that sings to the universe, and blesses all who hears it.

Spain this lady is not just a star but a national treasure.
