Jimena library to open on Thursday

cervantes_1 (Press Release) Named after Spain’s most famous writer, Miguel de Cervantes (picture), the library in Jimena village is to be inaugurated on Thursday with an event that is part of the XVI History & Archaeology Workshops. Titled Lo que cuenta la memoria (‘What the Memory Can Tell’) and devoted to oral literature, there will be a session of talk, recitals and audience participation starting at 8pm>

The library, more appropriately called a reading room, is located on Olof Palme Square, just above the Town Hall next to the tax office. Although it has been closed for several years and space is severely limited, this is the first step before it gets moved to a new location at what will be called the Antonio Puchán Cultural Centre (formerly the La Perla hostal).
