Yes, we hadn’t heard about them either, but our friend Paco from the chemist’s (that’s him up the tree) told us he had a limón dulce tree in his beautiful orchard in San Pablo. We didn’t believe him – I mean, sweet lemons?! – so he arranged to take us out to try them. He picked a whole lot and we tried them: they are limones dulces, indeed. In fact, once you get rid of the peel and pith, they taste rather insipid, not at all like a lemon, and we don’t know what to do with them. Any ideas?

Eat and enjoy!! My family went with our Spanish side of the family many years ago to a finca of the family, also in San Pablo, and had for the very first time, sweet lemons. I know that until you actually eat one, you don’t believe they are sweet. Lovely, I say.
