REMEMBERING DIEGO
TioJimeno has published a lasting memory of Diego Moreno, who died this morning. In a Jimena magazine, also called Tío Jimeno and published by Ricardo Gómez (TJ himself) and several others some time ago, there was a section called La Charraná (not in any dictionary but meaning, approximately, ‘self-deprecating, possibly apocryphal, joke or story’), which in its April 2001 edition carried a photo of Diego and a couple of charranás. THIS MAN IS PREGNANT
Thomas Beatie says he is pregnant. According to Advocate.com, the US-based gay and lesbian news magazine, Beatie was born ‘a woman in a man’s body’ and underwent breast operations and testosterone treatment to become a man, but his reproductive organs remained intact. When his wife Nancy was told she couldn’t become pregnant, they decided that Thomas would carry their child. Read the rest of this entry »
DIEGO MORENO DIED THIS MORNING
Well-known Jimena character Diego Moreno died this morning after a long illness. Our sincere condolences to his patient wife, Carmen, and his family. His interment takes place tomorrow at 11 am at the San Pablo cemetery.
BEWARE OF THESE COINS
This swindle isn’t new, but has surfaced yet again. (Click on pictures to enlarge). The two middle coins are in current circulation – in Thailand. The bottom two are from Morocco and Portugal. They are all practically the same weight, size and design as the 2 euro coin we use every day. All of them have been turning up in Tesorillo lately.
