€240 million for Campo de Gibraltar
(Agencies) The Budget for 2010, presented on Monday in Madrid by Elena Salgado, Second Vice-President and Minister for Economy (photo), and subject to much negotiation, includes a total of €239,930,290 for the Campo de Gibraltar. Most of the money (58%, or €140,824,000) would be scheduled for the Algeciras Port Authority. Algeciras-Madrid train service to be suspended for at least three months
(Agencies) The Algeciras-Madrid-Algeciras train line is to be suspended for at least three months because the track between Algeciras and Bobadilla is being replaced, acording to Renfe. An alternative bus service linking Algeciras with Málaga, Ronda and/or Bobadilla will be set up. There is no firm date as to when work is to begin, but it will probably be on or around the 25th or 26th of next month.> Read the rest of this entry »
Local railway stations to get a facelift

New San Pablo-Algeciras bus schedule
The new bus service, first announced here, between San Pablo and Algeciras will start to operate on Tuesday, September 1st. Called Línea 170, the week-day only, non-holiday service starts its daily route from San Pablo at 6.45am, arriving in Algeciras at 8. The last bus back from Algeciras leaves at 3.15pm and arrives in San Pablo at 4.30. (Click on image to enlarge).

Now it is serious: the Town Hall tells us that a group of people will be out until May 22nd taking photos of the best displays of flowers throughout the municipality. There are prizes involved, too!
