(Agencies) Dog pounds throughout the country are reporting that they are overwhelmed by owners trying to find another home for their pets. Feeding and visits to the vet have become a luxury many can no longer afford, according to José Cabra, of the Málaga dog refuge. The situation is compounded by people simply abandoning their dogs or cats; many stray animals can be seen at petrol stations on main roads or at shopping centre car parks, for instance.
