ANOTHER GIRL MISSING

1601_mari_luzjpg.gif Mari Luz Cortés, 5, went missing on Sunday from her home in the Los Torrejones district of Huelva. She went out to a local shop, where she bought a packet of crisps and hasn’t been seen since. Witnesses have said that she was seen saying, “Wait for me! Wait for me!” to a couple of other children of the barrio where she lives, carrying the crisps she had just bought. Is there a connection to little Madeleine McCann?
The Guardia Civil has set up a massive search for little Mari Luz and enquiries are focusing at present on her nearest family. The area where she lives is a close-knit working community and is only 90 minutes away from Praia da Luz, where Madeleine McCann disappeared last year. Support has come from several hundred people who came out onto the streets yesterday in a silent march through the streets, while local football club Recreativo de Huelva will put ‘Mari Luz, we’re waiting for you’ on their shirts for today’s Copa del Rey match. Mari Luz’s father, Juan José, is a former Recre player and was until recently a trainer at the club. An aunt of the little girl, Milagros Cortés, lives in Jimena.
