There was a party at Ruth’s. And a morning party at that. Okay, it wasn’t really a party but the food was great! Well, it was when Prospero got it home. The sausage rolls, he means, which were eaten mainly by a very growing boy, who didn’t actually eat them all himself but with P’s help. The pies have yet to be eaten (they went into the freezer), but in his experience Mary’s pies are wonderful providing they’re not heated up in the microwave (the crust melts).
So, we hear you ask, what the whatsit is he talking about? Mary’s pies are at Ruth’s, that’s what. Looking for an outlet when Fiona’s market venture fizzled out, Mary decided that Ruth’s idea of flogging them at her (Ruth’s) home was a good one. And on her first day, they sold out except for two sausages (presumably these were not made by Mary).
There’s more, of course. More food. There’s jam and marmalade. There’s…
just look at the boards, which you can click on to enlarge.
To the point: Ruth, at Calle Yustos 5, is opening her home on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 2 to those who want to buy this great stuff. A piece of advice: get there early ’cause the sausage rolls go fast!
