TWO ARRESTED IN MADELEINE CASE

SOTOGRANDE RESIDENTS ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO EXTORT MONEY FROM PARENTS

According to various news sources, Danilo Chemello and his partner Aurora Vaz Pereira, were detained yesterday in the exclusive Valgrande section of Sotogrande on suspicion of trying to extort money from Madeleine McCann’s parents by giving false clues as to her whereabouts. Madeleine disappeared from a hotel in the Algarve on May 3rd and is the subject of an intense international campaign for her recovery.
Danilo Chemello is an Italian citizen on whom there is an international arrest order for activities allegedly related to organized crime. Aurora Vaz Pereira, from Portugal, has two small children, who were taken into custody by the Junta de Andalucía when their mother was arrested. Both Chemello and Vaz Pereira spent last night in jail in La Línea.
