According to this marvellous book ‘From Lost to the River’, a braguetazo is described in English(ish) as a ‘coup de fly’, with the added ‘note the elegance of the French’. In fact, un braguetazo means to marry someone of better means than your own, i.e. the boss’s daughter or the rich widow of your best friend. Of course, the word bragueta means a fly, as in the illustration above (which one? I hear you ask - you guess the answer).And then there is the term mosqueado, from mosca (i.e. fly - keep guessing), which means upset or bothered. You can make your own mind up about how the term came about, which should be easy at this time of year.
